Dearborn, Mich. (June 20, 2018)  During the recent Open House celebration of Oakwood Common’s name change to Beaumont Commons, Dearborn, attendees heard remarks by Margaret Lightner, president of Beaumont Commons, Dearborn; Dr. Paul LaCasse, executive vice president of  post‐acute care and diversified business operations at Beaumont Health; and Dearborn Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr.

 

“In our affiliation with Beaumont, keeping the name “Commons” reflects the feeling of community and common areas where residents gather throughout this beautiful campus,” said Lightner. “As a vibrant senior living community for more than 25 years, the newly named campus of Beaumont Commons, Dearborn is poised to continue for many decades in providing excellent options and services for residents.”

 

Dr. LaCasse described the strength and benefit of the Dearborn senior living community’s affiliation with Beaumont, remarking on Beaumont’s vision and goal to be the “best of the best” in delivery of patient and family centered care.

 

Mayor O’Reilly, who participates each spring with residents and staff in a campus walk, shared how being active greatly contributes to residents’ health and quality of life. He also received large applause for recognition of Dearborn receiving the 2018 Governor’s Fitness Award for Active Communities, in partnership with Beaumont and the Healthy Dearborn initiative.

 

During the Open House, attendees feasted on a delicious buffet of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and desserts prepared by the campus dining services culinary team. Several guests also took the opportunity for campus tours with staff.
